Sometimes music mirrors real life. Sometimes it mocks real life. And sometimes it shows the truth, and is also pretty funny.
Comedians Molly Austin and Shamikah Martinez of YouTube channel Emotistyle recently parodied Beyonce’s song Flawless.
Their parody, called Morning Face, apparently tells it like it is when talking about bad breath, under-eye bags, and crow’s nest hair when waking up in the morning. This is human, deal with it.
Strangely enough, they’ve received criticism for their cover from Beyonce fans, who say that they shouldn’t mock a song whose lyrics talk about the most important aspects of a woman: her mind and personality.
Molly and Shamikah agree. Kind of. According to a response on their comments, their song was actually in response to people criticizing Beyonce for having a song about inner beauty, and yet, being all made up and in expensive clothes.
As part of the fun you can even send in a picture of your morning face and they’ll share it with their network. Are you game?
