Remember that time you dreamed and planned a trip to Europe, only to have all of your hard work wasted because you didn’t have enough money in the savings account?
Or that one trip that was all set to go, where you would travel Africa and volunteer along the way, but you neglected to budget in the airfare to jet around.
Trevolta is a global crowd-funded travels website created to help alleviate those problems. Trevolta asks travelers to submit their phenomenal and sometimes out-of-this world trip ideas. They in turn share your itinerary and soon those projects are backed by inspired people or sponsors.
These trips won’t be your ordinary vacations, however. In order to be funded successfully, we have a feeling the travelers will need to get pretty crazy and inventive. Word on the street is that in order to find sponsorship dollars, Trevolta travelers will need to accept challenges put forth by their sponsors, or leave segments of their trip up to blog readers/supporters.
Speaking of blogs, each and every trip will be featured on the site with photos, notes and videos during the trip to ensure that donors see the fruits of their contribution and to encourage more travelers to jump on the crowd-funding bandwagon.
Trevolta is still in the beta testing phase, but if you want in on the expedition excitement, sign up on the main page and you’ll soon be given private access. You can say you heard it first from Worldette.
