“Oh, this old thing from Milan?,” said you never, because 1) you’ve never been to Milan 2) you don’t have spare euros for extravagant shopping expeditions. Well, now you can.
Bib + Tuck is a members-only online marketplace for women to exchange clothing.
Created by two lifelong friends Sari Azout and Sari Bibliowicz (yes, they go by “Sari A” and “Sari B”), Bib + Tuck is a global clothes swapping community, which is transforming the way fashion is consumed.
Like us, you’re sick of the wasteful culture of poorly-made disposable fashion that sees our closets full of crap and truckloads of textile waste dumped into landfills every day. It’s time to start using ways to keep clothes out of landfill and in the fashion loop.
Bib + Tuck does just that. The site’s name refers to the aspect of give and take: “bib” being the listing aspect and “tuck” for the sale. Best of all you shop without spending. Users sell items in exchange for a virtual currency called “bucks,” which you can then spend on the other items for sale. Looking for an outfit for your next vacation? You might love this Diane von Furstenberg Calida Dress or these Missoni Sandals.
How does it work, you ask? It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4. Join up (it’s free), and:
1. Bib (give): List items of clothes you no longer want or need. Upload stylish pictures of these clothes in action. Decide how much you want to part with them for, and assign a virtual price.
2. When your items sell, you receive “bucks” – virtual currency.
3. You’ll receive a prepaid mailing label in an email. Stick the label on the parcel, and mail.
4. Tuck (take): Use your virtual currency to shop other closets.
And hey presto – revolving infinite closet.
What will you bib + tuck?
