So many organizations are combatting cancer and searching for a cure to its deadly grip, but what about the accompanying hair hardship that comes from the embarrassment of hair loss?
Tracey Van Voorhis grew tired of searching for a beautiful and functional head cover for her mother to wear while dealing with terminal brain cancer, so she stopped searching and instead created a beautiful alternative. Robin Hoods are a collection of head scarves, turbans and bands in a wide variety of prints and colors.
Not just for those fighting for their lives, these fashionable head covers are also a hit with those who crave a funky addition to their wardrobe – and they easily mask “hair hardship” of any kind, whether that’s weather-induced or because you’re fresh out of shampoo. All are available in linen, cotton or silk options. Some of our favourites are The Billie in Aztec and The Jane in Montauk Blue.
Sadly, Tracey’s mother lost her battle just before Robin Hoods was launched, but because the brand is founded on the principle of giving to women in need, they partner with many non-profit organizations to provide product and financial donations.
Turbans off to the Robin Hood team! By the way, the brand name comes courtesy of Tracey’s mother’s middle name and to who we would like to say, thank you for giving birth to such an amazing daughter doing good in the world by improving the accessory industry, one woman at a time. Your legacy lives on.
