For some traveling means not worrying about appearances. Dry shampoo and makeup free skin all the way, s’il vous plaît. Then there are those who love fashion or who like getting dressed up – but doing so on the road can be a struggle between practicality and space.
Travel Fashion Girl is a website dedicated to travel style and packing advice. When founder Alex Jimenez, from LA, quit her corporate fashion job to become a full time nomad in 2008 she realised she could combine her two favourite things, travel and fashion, to create a new career. Thirty-six countries and six continents later, carrying only her hand luggage, Alex is dedicated to traveling light and looking good.
The site covers everything from international packing lists – broken down by key countries in each continent, and by season (eg. Japan in the summer: pack loose flowing, neutral colored clothes and take a cardigan for inside air conditioned, chilly buildings), to travel accessory reviews, and beauty advice, such as how to prolong your holiday tan and travel tips for contact lens wearers.
Even if fashion isn’t your thing, feeling good about your appearance can be important, and never having to tote heavy luggage around makes traveling much easier. Get started with the Capsule Wardrobe Essentials ebook to develop your own travel style, and how to do it with minimal luggage.
We love Alex’s approach to stylish fashion. No one looks good with baggage. So leave it behind and hit the road. Ain’t nothing more attractive than a free spirit.
